    01 POSITION DETAILS

    Position: Managing Attorney

    Reports To: Executive Director

    Location: Fresno, CA

    Status: Full-time, exempt

    The Services, Immigrant Rights, & Education Network (SIREN) is a 501(c)(3) community-based organization whose mission is to empower low-income immigrants and refugees through community education and organizing, leadership development, policy advocacy, civic engagement, and legal services. We believe that all people—regardless of legal status or nationality—are entitled to essential services, human dignity, basic rights and protections, and the opportunity to fully participate in society.

    03 IDEAL CANDIDATE

    We are seeking a motivated and mission-aligned individual to join our team as a Managing Attorney. Reporting directly to the Executive Director, this role is part of our Leadership Team. The ideal candidate is deeply committed to social justice, organized, self-driven, and experienced in using communication tools and data management systems. A passion for uplifting the voices of immigrant and refugee families is essential.

    04 ABOUT THE ROLE

    Key Responsibilities

    a. Oversee and Provide Legal Services

    • Manage and support the legal services team to provide high-quality representation in removal defense, naturalization applications, and affirmative relief, including AOS, U-Visas, SIJS, and VAWA.
    • Ensure all legal clinics are appropriately staffed and, when needed, participate in clinics, including:
    • Monthly clinics (naturalization and DACA renewals)
    • Bi-monthly pro se asylum clinics
    • Bi-weekly general consultations
    • Collaborate with the organizing teams to ensure community clinics are well-supported.
    • Keep the organization informed of significant changes in immigration law and policy.
    • Oversee the use of case management software to track case status, client information, and data.

    b. Grant Tracking and Reporting

    • Lead and support grant applications and renewals with state, county, local, and other public entities.
    • Ensure compliance with grant contracts, including tracking cases, submitting timely reports, and meeting deliverables.
    • Maintain accurate and current data protocols to ensure readily available demographic and client need information.

    c. Integration with Organizing

    • Maintain and enhance workflows to channel clients into SIREN’s organizing and leadership programs.
    • Ensure intake processes capture client needs and priorities and report findings to inform organizing work.
    • Represent SIREN in relevant coalitions and networks that impact both legal services and organizing efforts.
    • Serve as a media spokesperson when necessary.

    d. General Operations and Administrative Support

    • Collaborate with the Leadership Team to meet organizational goals.
    • Follow financial and accounting protocols to ensure transparent and efficient operations.
    • Foster a collaborative and trusting team environment.

    05 QUALIFICATIONS

    • Licensed attorney in good standing in any U.S. jurisdiction, with no disciplinary history.
    • Minimum of three years of active immigration law practice.

    06 KNOWLEDGE AND ABILITIES

    • Strong oral and written communication skills.
    • Bilingual candidates (especially Spanish) strongly preferred.
    • Fast learner, adaptable, and comfortable in a dynamic environment.
    • Passionate about immigrant and human rights.
    • Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
    • Confident public speaker and comfortable conducting media interviews.
    • Ability to work independently, handle pressure, and maintain strong relationships with diverse staff and clients.

    07 FLEXIBILITY

    • Must have reliable transportation, valid CA driver’s license, and insurance.
    • Must be flexible with work hours based on organizational needs.

    08 COMPENSATION AND BENEFITS

    Pay Equity:

    SIREN uses a pay equity model to ensure fairness and transparency. Offers are determined based on years of experience and qualification for pay differentials. Compensation offers are not negotiable but may be adjusted based on our assessment of the candidate’s experience and skills.

    Salary Range:

    $100,000 – $130,000 annually
