    Rosemount Center provides dual language early childhood education and family support services to pregnant women, infants, toddlers, and preschool-aged children and their families in its center-based and home-based programs. Since 1972, Rosemount has served residents primarily from the District of Columbia.     KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

    The Development Director is responsible for stewarding and expanding Rosemount Center’s annual fund and maintaining and improving development operations. Reporting to the COO, the Development Director will develop and execute plans, set goals, and implement the annual development plan strategies intended to grow donor retention, increase fundraising revenue, and diversify revenue sources through a variety of cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship activities.

    This position will be part of a new development team with plans to expand the fundraising team over time. Specifically, this role will help lead fundraising growth in the following ways:

    Annual Giving

    • Implement the tactics outlined in Rosemount’s development plan to reach annual revenue goals and build toward the long-term sustainability of the organization securing financial support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.
    • Manage and execute all annual giving cultivation and solicitation activities including mailings, acquisition efforts, and digital campaigns.
    • Oversee performance reports and dashboards for annual giving.
    • Manage and implement the stewardship program for Rosemount’s individual donors.
    • Partner with program staff to produce materials/collateral for donors.
    • Support coordination of fundraising events for donors and prospects throughout the year.
    • Support the CEO, COO, and Board in their fundraising efforts.

    Foundations

    • Directly manage a portfolio of foundation funders—including key existing and prospective donors.
    • Lead prospect research, oversee the development of grant proposals including deadlines for submission, preparing and writing the proposals, follow-up, and reporting guidelines.

    Capital Campaign

    • Support all aspects of fundraising, donor cultivation, and solicitation for the current capital campaign, working closely with Rosemount's Capital Campaign Consultant.
    • Help produce capital campaign packets for prospect and donor visits with supporting documentation and follow-up correspondence.
    • Ensure donors are acknowledged in a timely fashion.
    • Help coordinate donor recognition signage (displays within space).

    Event Management

    • Help plan and execute Rosemount's fundraising events including the annual Fall Fiesta and the spring Golf Tournament.
    • Oversee database gift and donor information entry, acknowledgement letters process, and reconciliation process between finance and development.

    Qualifications

    • Minimum of Bachelor’s degree; 2-3 years prior fundraising experience with a proven track record of success in donor engagement including individuals, corporations, and foundations.
    • Excellent English language skills (speaking and writing); Strong interpersonal, organizational, communication, and computer skills.
    • Effective people and process management experience in a collaborative, entrepreneurial environment.
    • Excellent project management, strategic thinking, and planning skills.
    • Availability for occasional evening and weekend work when necessary.
    • Desire to work in an early childhood education and human services environment.
    • Must have an unexpired Driver’s License and regular access to an automobile.
    • Must be authorized to work in the United States
