The Chesapeake Bay Outward Bound School (CBOBS) is a non-profit, outdoor educational organization with programs that deliver character development and self-discovery in the wilderness, in the city, and in school. CBOBS operates programs in Baltimore City, the District of Columbia, the Appalachian Trail in MD and PA, the Potomac River, the Dolly Sods Wilderness Area in WV, and the Eastern Shore of the Chesapeake Bay.

    Position Summary

    The DC Partnership Coordinator is an integral member of the Educational Partnership team. The role is focused on community outreach, and the day-to-day oversight of emerging programs and operations in the DC Metro area, providing daily leadership, administrative support, and customer service in managing new community relationships such as schools, youth serving organizations, and non-profits in DC program locations. The DC Partnerships Coordinator reports to the DC Sr. Accounts Manager and supports the DC team to advance goals in the DC Metro region.

    Requirements

    The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

    Partner Engagement & Support

    • Initiate outreach to partners to gather key program information, including scheduling, goals, thematic content, and logistical needs.
    • Act as a liaison between external partners and internal teams to ensure alignment on program goals, logistics, and expectations.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date program records in internal systems (e.g., Salesforce) and ensure all relevant materials are shared with partners in a timely manner.
    • Monitor participant sign-ups and provide regular updates to stakeholders.
    • Serve as a key of contact for partner organizations leading up to and on the day of the program.
    • Support smooth program delivery by anticipating needs, addressing issues proactively, and facilitating strong communication throughout the booking process.
    • Work as a liaison with THEARC and other local program areas as needed to secure permits and meeting spaces.
    • Follow up with external partners as needed.
    • Track key partnership metrics to guide continuous improvement.

    Account Management

    • Work as the account manager for select fully-funded program partners—managing the full sales cycle from cultivation to close and year after year retention.
    • Support Sr. Account Manager with thought-partnership, strategy implementation, and progress towards revenue goals.

    Community Outreach

    Broaden and deepen CBOBS connections in Washington, DC through engagement with community events and partners.

    • Identify and attend community events, representing CBOBS and creating connections and collaboration with other youth-serving organizations.
    • Deepen CBOBS’ impact and involvement in the communities we serve through participation in relevant community groups, boards, listening sessions, etc.
    • Coordinate DC events to strengthen our brand and connection to the DC community.

    Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities)

    • Passionate about Outward Bound’s mission, programs, and course activities.
    • Experience working in education, nonprofit, or program coordination settings preferred.
    • Connections to youth serving and/or educational networks in DC preferred.
    • Preferred Bachelor’s Degree.
    • Strong organizational, relationship management, and communication skills.
    • Ability to manage multiple projects and timelines.
    • Comfortable using Microsoft operating system, CRM systems and digital collaboration tools.
    • Must be 21 years or older and able to pass all applicable state and federal background checks.
    • Reliable transportation across the DC and Baltimore Metro Region.
    • Occasional evening and weekend hours are required.

    • Able to lift and transport 30-50 pounds of gear several times a day.
    • Able to maintain energy, strength, and focus while assisting students and staff with physical and emotional challenges.
