    Description

    The Frankfort Center for Learning and Scholarly Technologies at Hunter College School of Education is seeking an experienced and creative Instructional Designer to support the development of a technology-focused, asynchronous mini-course for incoming students.

    This is a part-time, short-term opportunity ideal for someone with strong instructional design skills, multimedia production experience, and an understanding of educational technology in teacher preparation or counseling programs.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Design, develop, and revise asynchronous learning modules using Articulate 360 (Rise and Storyline)
    • Create engaging multimedia content, including video, animation, and interactive learning objects
    • Apply principles of adult learning and universal design for learning (UDL) to enhance accessibility and engagement
    • Package and publish learning materials for delivery via Brightspace LMS, ensuring SCORM compliance
    • Collaborate with faculty, staff, and project leads to ensure high-quality instructional outcomes
    • Manage deadlines, communicate clearly, and maintain version control and documentation

    Required Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree in instructional design, educational technology, or a related field
    • Minimum 2 years of experience designing asynchronous online learning experiences
    • Proficiency in Articulate 360 and familiarity with Brightspace LMS
    • Experience with video production and design tools such as Kaiber, Canva, or Adobe Creative Cloud
    • Strong communication, project management, and collaboration skills
    • Knowledge of Google Workspace and Microsoft Office applications

    Preferred Qualifications

    • Master’s degree in instructional design, eLearning, or a related field
    • Experience with teacher education, PK-12 learning environments, or counselor preparation
    • Familiarity with CUNY technologies (e.g., CUNY First, Brightspace, )
    • Understanding of SCORM packaging and LMS integration workflows
    • Experience designing with accessibility and UDL in mind
