Since our founding in 1979, we've produced over 150 fully‐realized productions including Jonathan Larson's Rent; Tony Kushner's Homebody/Kabul; Doug Wright's Quills; Claudia Shear's Dirty Blonde; Rick Elice's Peter and the Starcatcher; Glen Hansard, Markéta Irglová, and Enda Walsh's Once; and David Bowie and Enda Walsh's Lazarus. Enabling our artists to push boundaries generates work like Nathan Alan Davis's Nat Turner in Jerusalem, Anaïs Mitchell's Hadestown, Mfoniso Udofia's Ufot Family Cycle, Heidi Schreck's What the Constitution Means to Me, Jeremy O. Harris's Slave Play, Kristina Wong's Kristina Wong, Sweatshop Overlord, and Moisés Kaufman and Amanda Gronich's Here There Are Blueberries. NYTW productions have received a Pulitzer Prize, 29 Tony Awards, 2 Grammy Awards, and numerous Obie, Drama Desk, and Lucille Lortel Awards.

But that's not what we're proudest of. We take the greatest satisfaction from the community we've built, and the perspective-shifting experiences we've delivered along the way. About the Team:

Our 5-person Internal Operations team is responsible for the finance, facilities, IT, and HR functions for this $10 million theater. The Finance Manager is responsible for the daily operations of the finance department. The Finance Manager is part of the Internal Operations team and reports directly to the Director of Internal Operations and oversees the Finance Associate.

About the Position:

• Lead Financial Manager (with support from Director of Internal Operations) at NYTW, which includes the items below but is not limited to them.
• Manages month and year-end accounting and reporting, including bank reconciliations, detailed GL account analysis, and journal preparation.
• Manages and maintains institutional budget, in concert with the Director of Internal Operations and Managing Director.
• Manages cash flow and company bank accounts.
• Records and reconciles ticket, development and other revenues.
• Assists in Board meeting preparation and takes notes for Finance Committee meetings.
• Prepares financial statements, manages the annual audit process and prepares form 990 schedules.
• Supports cross departmental reconciliation processes to ensure proper allocation of income and expenses and regulary reviews data entry for accuracy and records adjusting entries whenever necessary.
• Prepares reports Finance Committee and Board of Trustees.
• Supplies budgets and financial information for grant applications and reports.
• Manages Finance Associate who oversees payroll and Accounts Payable processes.
• Works alongside Director of Internal operations to develop, maintain and implement institution-wide policies and procedures to streamline and improvement accounting functions.
• Serves as Payroll administrator back up to Direct of HR and manages the financial side of all employee benefits (health, dental, FSA, 403b, transit, Difference Card, workers comp audit).
• Supports daily financial needs of the organization.

About You:

• You are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion in all aspects of your work.
• 1-5 years of nonprofit accounting, managing an organization's finances.
• You possess excellent analytical skills and are highly organized and self-motivated.
• You have excellent bookkeeping skills and understand GAAP and the special requirements of not-for-profit accounting.
• You have an excellent working knowledge of MS Excel.
• You have the ability to maintain impeccable attention to detail and accuracy while working on multiple projects and tasks at once; excellent numerical and computational skills.
• You have a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• You have experience in budget management, financial planning, and analysis.

Bonus:

• You have lead the annual audit process from start to finish.
• You have experience with capital projects.
• You have experience with Financial Edge and Spektrix CRM Database.

Salary range is $72,000-$82,000. Benefits include employer-paid medical, dental, and life insurance and paid time off. NYTW has several affinity spaces as well as a Core Team of staff members across the organization committed to moving specific initiatives forward in our focus on Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

Please note that NYTW is in a hybrid work environment with employees in the office at least three days a week, with additional in office days required if finance support is needed. This position will require onsite, in-person activity, so the applicant should intend to reside in the NYC area.
