    Description

    About the Role

District 1199C Training & Upgrading Fund is seeking a Learner Access & Intake Navigator to help community members access education, training, and career opportunities. This role is the first point of contact for new participants and plays a vital role in ensuring they successfully connect to the program or service that best supports their goals.

The Navigator works across the agency to guide learners through orientation and intake, complete required paperwork and data entry, schedule assessments, and make referrals to supportive services. By identifying barriers and collaborating with colleagues, the Navigator helps ensure every participant has a clear pathway into education, workforce training, apprenticeships, healthcare programs, and career advancement.

    What You’ll Do

      • Conduct 5–7 intake/orientation sessions daily, including paperwork, data entry, and scheduling assessments.
      • Identify barriers to participation (e.g., childcare, transportation, housing) and connect learners to wraparound services.
      • Refer participants to case management, financial literacy, digital literacy, workforce training, and apprenticeship programs.
      • Collaborate with instructors, case managers, and staff across departments to ensure seamless transitions.
      • Enter data accurately into Civicore/eData and support program compliance.
      • Build relationships with PA CareerLink®, community partners, and referral networks to strengthen access to programs.

    What We’re Looking For

      • Education: Associate’s degree required; Bachelor’s degree preferred (Education, Social Work, Human Services, or related field).
      • Experience: At least 2 years in adult education, student services, workforce development, or related fields. Experience with English Language Learners preferred.
      • Skills: Strong organizational and time management abilities; proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 and data systems (Civicore/eData).
      • Languages: Multilingual ability strongly preferred (Spanish, French, Arabic, Mandarin, or other languages common in Philadelphia).
      • Personal Qualities: Empathy, cultural sensitivity, clear communication, and a collaborative spirit.

    Working Conditions

      • Office/classroom environment with frequent learner interaction.
      • Weekly travel to PA CareerLink® sites; occasional additional community outreach.
      • Flexibility for some evenings or weekends.
