Our approach to homelessness combines community engagement, advocacy, world-class technology, and a strong dose of pragmatism across five critical areas of need: Prevention, Services, Shelter, Housing, and Technology.

    Position Overview

The Corporate and Foundations Development Manager will play a key role in expanding and sustaining Better Angels’ partnerships with corporations, foundations, and other institutional funders. This individual will lead efforts to identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward philanthropic and in-kind support from organizations that share our commitment to creating pathways out of homelessness.

In addition to securing financial support, this role will manage gifts-in-kind initiatives and corporate volunteer programs, ensuring that every partnership leverages both financial and human capital to maximize community impact.

    Key Responsibilities

Corporate and Foundation Fundraising (Primary Focus)

    • Research, cultivate, and steward relationships with corporate and foundation partners to secure grants, sponsorships, and strategic partnerships.
    • Write and edit compelling proposals, grant applications, and reports tailored to funders.
    • Manage the corporate and foundation fundraising pipeline, track deadlines, and maintain accurate records in the Better Angels CRM.
    • Support leadership and program teams in preparing briefings, materials and presentations for donor meetings.

    Gifts-in-Kind Management

    • Identify and cultivate partners who can contribute goods, services, or materials that advance Better Angels’ mission.
    • Develop systems to track, acknowledge, and report the impact of in-kind contributions.
    • Collaborate with operations and program teams to ensure logistical coordination of donated items.

    Corporate & Organizational Volunteer Recruitment

    • Design and oversee volunteer opportunities for corporate and community partners that align with program needs and goals.
    • Build and maintain relationships with corporate social responsibility (CSR) leads and employee engagement teams.
    • Coordinate volunteer events and recognition initiatives to deepen organizational engagement.

    Qualifications

    • 4+ years of experience in corporate or foundation fundraising, preferably in the nonprofit or social impact sector.
    • Demonstrated success securing corporate sponsorships and foundation grants.
    • Strong writing, presentation, and relationship-management skills.
    • Experience managing gifts-in-kind or corporate volunteer programs preferred.
    • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail; comfort managing multiple projects and deadlines.
    • Commitment to Better Angels’ mission to ending the epidemic of homelessness in Los Angeles County.

    Compensation and Benefits

    • Competitive salary commensurate with experience.
    • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
    • Flexible PTO and work schedule.
    • Professional development opportunities and a mission-driven, collaborative work environment.
