Project Management Consultant Role
SIA is seeking a highly skilled Project Manager Consultant to lead its Technology Transformation initiative, which includes oversight and coordination of multiple projects, specifically:
- Member Resources Library. A new digital platform to centralize, organize, and make resources more accessible to members.
- Marketing Platform Migration. SIA is transitioning from MailChimp to Salesforce Marketing Cloud, including requirements gathering, integration, testing, and rollout.
The consultant will serve as the primary liaison between SIA staff, project teams, and vendors, ensuring that projects are executed on time, within scope, and aligned with organizational goals.
Responsibilities
- SIA’s project manager will proactively manage projects and ensure they are launched on time, within budget, scope, and quality. Additionally, the project manager will define internal project communication plans to ensure proactive and ongoing communication on project status and effectively manage risks.
- Lead and oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of SIA’s Technology Transformation projects.
- Serve as project manager for the Member Resources Library and Marketing Platform Migration, ensuring milestones are met according to approved project charters.
- Coordinate cross-functional teams, including SIA staff, technology vendors, and external consultants.
- Develop and maintain project plans, schedules, status reports, and risk management logs.
- Facilitate stakeholder communications, including progress updates to senior leadership and governance bodies.
- Ensure alignment of technology initiatives with SIA’s strategic plan and member needs.
- Support change management, including training, documentation, and adoption strategies for end-users.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Project Manager or Consultant, preferably in nonprofit, membership, or mission-driven organizations.
- Strong background in technology implementation, digital platforms, and marketing automation systems. Experience with Salesforce and Marketing Cloud implementations preferred.
- Demonstrated success managing technology migrations and library/resource repository projects.
- PMP, PRINCE2, or Agile project management certification preferred.
- Exceptional communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a remote/virtual environment.
- Excellent relationship manager with the ability to work collaboratively with the Project Executive Sponsor and effectively communicate project statuses to SIA’s Executive Leadership Team.
Consulting Engagement
- Start Date: mid-December 2025 (anticipated)
- Duration: 12–18 months (with potential extensions depending on project timelines)
- Reports To: SIA Chief Executive Officer or designated project sponsor
- Compensation: Commensurate with experience; to be negotiated
