    Description

    The Botstiber Institute for Wildlife Fertility Control (BIWFC) is dedicated to advancing the science and practice of humane wildlife management through fertility control. By convening experts, supporting research, and engaging with practitioners, policymakers, and the public, the Institute seeks to expand awareness and adoption of wildlife fertility control as a viable and sustainable tool for wildlife management.     We are seeking an experienced and strategic leader to serve as Managing Director of the BIWFC. Reporting to the Foundation Administrator and Deputy Administrator, the Managing Director will play a pivotal role in guiding the Institute’s vision, programs, and partnerships. This is a rare opportunity for a mission-driven professional to shape a growing field and steward a program with national and international reach.

    Key Responsibilities

    The Managing Director will provide leadership across the Institute’s activities, ensuring alignment with BIWFC’s mission and strategic goals. Responsibilities include:

      • Program Strategy & Leadership: Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of all BIWFC activities, including conferences, educational programs, events, and special initiatives.
      • Team Management: Direct staff in the U.S. and Europe, including program, communications, and external affairs staff, as well as contractors and service providers.
      • Outreach & Engagement: Represent BIWFC in national and international forums; cultivate relationships with researchers, policymakers, practitioners, and partner organizations to advance the field of wildlife fertility control.
      • Operations & Oversight: Manage budgets, contracts, and agreements; oversee events and publications; ensure efficient internal coordination and communication.
      • Institutional Knowledge: Build and sustain organizational expertise in wildlife fertility control, positioning BIWFC as a trusted global resource.

    Candidate Profile

    The ideal candidate will bring a balance of strategic vision, operational excellence, and strong leadership skills. We are seeking someone who can inspire a team, engage effectively with diverse stakeholders, and steward the growth of an international program.

    Qualifications include:

      • Demonstrated experience in program administration and development, ideally within a nonprofit or mission-driven organization.
      • Strong organizational, planning, and staff management skills, with the ability to lead both in-person and virtual teams.
      • Excellent judgment, communication, and relationship-building skills across scientific, academic, government, NGO, and advocacy sectors.
      • Financial and administrative skills, including budget preparation and oversight.
      • Computer literacy with standard office and communications software.
      • A bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (background in animal science or related field beneficial but not required).

    Position Details

      • Location: Media, Pennsylvania (in-person, full-time; occasional travel required)
      • Salary: $85,000 – $105,000, commensurate with experience
      • Reports to: Administrator and Deputy Administrator, Botstiber Foundation
