    Job Title: Senior Manager, Campaigns

    Reports to: Senior Director, Campaigns

    Salary Range: $97,501-$112,500

    Location: Remote, overseeing work in MI, IN, IL, WI, MN, IA, MO, OK, TX, LA with occasional travel required. Central time zone candidates and/or candidates in the states listed above are strongly preferred. Exact states assigned may fluctuate over time.

    Greenlight America engages and mobilizes local residents in support of clean energy projects. We aspire to be the leading grassroots campaign force powering the clean energy transition in terms of steel in the ground, with the result that more clean power projects win local siting and permitting approval more quickly, contributing to an overall environment where the U.S. exceeds our clean energy generation and transmission goals for the next decade.

    Position Overview:

    The Senior Manager, Campaigns leads a team of campaign staff across their assigned region. They provide direction, ensure campaign quality and consistency, build partner relationships, and track deliverables to ensure that Greenlight America effectively mobilizes grassroots support for clean energy projects. A successful candidate will be a seasoned campaign strategist with extensive experience in management, strategic planning, organizing, communications, lobbying, coalition management, and leading teams. They will also have a willingness to continually learn new things and approach challenges with a flexible and creative mindset. The position is remote in the assigned region and reports to the Senior Director, Campaigns.

    Primary Roles and Responsibilities:

    • Support and coach campaign staff. Lead a team of campaign managers and organizers by setting clear goals, providing regular feedback, fostering professional development, and creating a collaborative, results-driven culture.
    • Provide strategic oversight for clean energy campaigns in the assigned region. Guide the development of campaign strategies and ensure alignment with organizational goals. Ensure regular reporting of campaign data.
    • Ensure campaign success across the region by tracking milestones, monitoring progress toward goals, helping staff seize emerging opportunities, and collaborating with department leadership to monitor the pipeline and decide which new campaigns to take on.
    • Build relationships with organizations in the assigned region, including but not limited to environmental, labor, faith, farming, social justice, clean energy industry and business groups, in collaboration with Greenlight America’s partnerships team.
    • Oversee grant agreements and consultant contracts and ensure deliverables are met.
    • Manage campaign budgets for the region. Ensure resources are allocated strategically across the region to maximize impact and that spending stays on track.
    • Play a leadership role within the national campaigns team. Collaborate across regions to share best practices and contribute to the overall effectiveness of Greenlight America’s campaign efforts.
    • May occasionally take on campaigns outside of the assigned region.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    Experience and Qualifications:

    We are looking for candidates who have the following qualifications:

    • 4 years of relevant experience required, 6+ years of relevant experience preferred.
    • Strong candidates for this position may have a background in grassroots organizing, issue advocacy, community engagement, political campaigns, coalition management, or similar.
    • Successful track record of managing and coaching staff to achieve ambitious campaign outcomes. Experience at the local level is a strong plus.
    • Strong strategic thinking, project management skills, and attention to detail.
    • Experience working with partner organizations and volunteers. Willingness to meet people where they are and build alliances across the political spectrum.
    • Excellent communications skills, both verbal and written, and comfort talking to people at all levels of expertise and seniority.
    • Experience with digital campaigning tools and tactics.
    • Willingness to think creatively, take risks, objectively evaluate results, and iterate in a fast-paced environment.
    • Passion for accelerating the clean energy transition.

    Compensation and Benefits:

    The base annual salary range for this position is $97,501-$112,500. We offer an excellent benefits package which includes 100% employer paid premiums for medical, dental, and vision insurance, unlimited paid time off, monthly technology stipend, and retirement contributions through 401k and Roth plans.
