Huckleberry strengthens families and empowers young people with services that promote safety in times of crisis, physical and emotional health and well-being, social justice in communities facing inequity, and educational success. Huckleberry Youth Programs works in solidarity with young people and their families to advance their personal growth and social equity. Huckleberry Youth Program is looking for a Development Officer, Individual Giving, to join the Development Team.

    DEVELOPMENT OFFICER

    Reporting to the Senior Director of Development, the Development Officer identifies, cultivates, solicits, and stewards individual donors through targeted campaigns and events. This position manages a portfolio of mid-level individual donors and prospects, and responsibilities related to this tier of donors, including events.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    Donor Management & Fundraising

    • Manage a portfolio of individual donors and prospects with giving capacity up to $5,000 through all phases of the donor cycle and seasonal campaigns
    • Develop and execute annual engagement strategies in collaboration with the Senior Director of Development
    • Establish meaningful touchpoints with donors through meetings, personalized outreach, and delivery of mission-aligned content
    • Develop compelling case statements and materials that articulate the organization's mission and impact
    • Oversee all annual giving campaign mailings and related collateral

    Event Management

    • Plan and execute the annual fundraising event and other special events, partnering cross-functionally across teams for successful implementation
    • Solicit corporate sponsorships and silent auction items for events

    Data & Prospecting

    • Maintain donor database, track interactions, and analyze fundraising metrics to report on performance
    • Support donor prospecting pipeline through research and identification of new prospects using screening and segmentation tools
    • Generate reports and data around individual giving and events for the Board of Directors

    Collaboration

    • Partner with the development team on cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship efforts, donor briefings, and correspondence
    • Perform other development-related duties and projects as assigned

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Required

    • Bachelor's degree from and/or equivalent experience
    • At least four years of proven fundraising experience with demonstrated success in donor cultivation, campaign management, and event planning
    • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to engage diverse audiences
    • Strong organizational and project management skills with exceptional attention to detail
    • Proficiency with donor databases (CRMs), Google Suite, and project management tools
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team
    • Deep commitment to social justice and the organization's mission

    ADDITIONAL ELIGIBILITY QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. TB clearance
    2. Fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
