    Description

Why HIP Housing? Human Investment Project, Inc. (HIP Housing) is a highly respected nonprofit offering innovative solutions to San Mateo County’s affordable housing challenges. Founded in 1972, HIP Housing's mission is to invest in human potential by improving the housing and lives of people in our community. What started as a small social service agency has grown into a multifaceted organization housing 1200 low-income people each year and assisting thousands more in their housing journey. HIP Housing benefits from an exceptional staff, well-established programs, progressive management strategies, and financial stability. Our programs are nationally recognized and have been highlighted in Newsweek, USA Today, Metropolitan Home, and the Oprah Winfrey Show. In 2025, HIP Housing was honored with the first-ever Impactful Nonprofit Organization Award by the Chamber of San Mateo County and was selected as State Senator Josh Becker’s 2025 Nonprofit of the Year.

Our Team: Our team includes a staff of 46 and a diverse governing board of 18-20 Directors who assist in advancing HIP Housing's mission. We seek team members who embrace our mission and respect our commitment to our community, our staff, and the well-being of all.

You’ll work closely with our Director of Fund Development, internal teams, sponsors, and community partners to create experiences that inspire generosity and strengthen relationships.

Beyond event planning, you’ll play a vital role in donor stewardship, Board engagement, and the development of marketing and communications materials that tell our story. You’ll also help maintain our fundraising database to ensure our operations are efficient and effective.
