    Job Summary

    Mosaic Family Services is seeking an experienced Shelter Director for the Mosaic House program. Mosaic House is a 24/7 residential program that serves survivors of family violence and human trafficking, and their families. The Shelter Director will oversee and provide support for the day-to-day operations and shelter team to create a trauma-responsive, and culturally responsive safe environment. This position will also work collaboratively with the Senior Director, case management, counseling, transitional housing, legal, outreach staff, and community partners to ensure a holistic approach and best outcomes for survivors. The ideal candidate will be a leader, innovative, and a team player. This position is expected to be in-person and on-site at our shelter location during work hours with a limited hybrid remote work schedule.

    This position is primarily government grant-funded and dependent on government funding availability and awards each agency fiscal year (October – September).

    Essential Functions and Responsibilities

    Supervisory Responsibilities

    • Supervises and supports shelter staff, interns, and volunteers, including recruitment, hiring, training and professional development, and staff evaluations.
    • Ensure that staff deliver trauma-informed/responsive, survivor-centered, culturally responsive services in a manner that reflects Mosaic’s mission, core values, and approaches.

    Program Management Responsibilities

    • Day-to-day oversight of program operations, budget, activities, and services and responds to crisis situations when necessary.
    • Develop, modify, implement, and evaluate all shelter programming, services, and policies and procedures that promotes safety and healing.
    • Monitor program, documentation, record-keeping, and data for quality assurance, accuracy, and compliance with requirements by agency, funders, and city, state, and federal regulations; and submit data for monthly reports and grants.

    Liaison Responsibilities

    • Collaborate with the Victim Services leadership team in support of cohesion and alignment of program policies and procedures, evaluation, resources, outreach and partnerships, and compliance.
    • Attend and positively represent residential program and Mosaic in meetings within the agency and within the community; and relay information to program staff.
    • Build and maintain effective network and working relationships with other shelters and community organizations to maintain awareness of information and resources to support program, staff, and survivors.

    Other Duties and Responsibilities

    • Participate in ongoing supervision and evaluation with Supervisor.
    • Maintain and utilize updated professional knowledge and development of family violence, human trafficking, community resources, trauma-informed care, and other related topics.
    • Conduct outreach and education to underserved communities and prepare appropriate materials and brochures as appropriate and needed.
    • Other duties as appropriate and assigned by Supervisor or their designee.

    Qualifications and Skills

    Required

    • Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field required.
    • 3+ years of experience of demonstrated leadership in nonprofit leadership, program management, and supervision to create a healthy work environment.
    • Demonstrated success in developing, evaluating, and sustaining trauma-informed and responsive program models, and in successfully operationalizing innovative practices for a residential program with survivors of family violence and/or human trafficking.
    • Ability to motivate, lead, supervise, and evaluate staff.
    • Ability to effectively work and communicate (oral and written) with individuals from diverse backgrounds and remain sensitive to their concerns.
    • Ability to work independently and with limited supervision to implement and monitor accountability to established policies and procedures.
    • Ability to provide and receive feedback and respond in a constructive, supportive manner.
    • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
    • Proficiency in MS365 especially Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, and Adobe Acrobat.
    • Valid Driver’s License, car insurance, and reliable transportation

    Preferred

    • Master’s degree in Social Work.
    • Licensed Social Worker (LCSW, LMSW, LMSW-AP, or LBSW).
    • Bilingual in English and Spanish (or other languages).
    • Knowledge and experience with local community resources and organizations.

    Salary Range: Starting $70,000.00 + DOE annually
