    Description

    At this moment of enormous global unrest, the Communications Assistant will help USGLC tell the urgent story of how sustained U.S. engagement abroad can help build a better world and a stronger America.

    The Communications Assistant will work across a fast-paced communications team to design, execute, and track a range of communications products – including social media content, daily news clips, fact sheets, event invitations, website content, and contacts databases. This position is based in Washington, D.C.

    The Assistant’s primary responsibilities will include:

      • Social Media and Digital Support – Draft and schedule engaging social media content across platforms; monitor social media channels to track metrics and engagement; assist with digital campaigns and initiatives
      • General Content and Marketing Support – Help design and edit reports, presentations, one-pagers, and op-eds, along with marketing materials for USGLC’s nation-wide events

    Qualifications

    The ideal candidate has:

      • Up to 2 years of media and communications experience in a Congressional office, nonprofit organization, campaign, private sector, trade association, or similar environment preferred
      • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills
      • Comfort with multiple social media platforms, including LinkedIn, Instagram, Twitter, and Facebook
      • Proficiency in office management software and design software such as Canva and InDesign
      • Strong attention to detail and deadlines
      • Excellent organizational skills and the ability to multitask
      • Creativity and innovation
      • Passion for U.S. foreign policy

    Compensation

    A projected salary range of $42,500 - $46,000 will be offered, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The USGLC also provides a package of benefits, including health and disability insurance, retirement plan, paid annual and sick leave and federal holidays.
