    About Global Greengrants Fund:

Global Greengrants Fund supports grassroots activists and civil society organisations around the world working to address environmental and social justice in over 160 countries. Global Greengrants applies a participatory and decentralised model in making grants to grassroots groups through regional and thematic boards of advisors, global partner networks, and partner funds, to support grassroots environmental and social justice action. Global Greengrants Fund believes solutions to environmental harm and social injustice come from people whose lives are most impacted. Every day, our global network of people on the frontlines and donors comes together to support communities to protect their ways of life and our planet. Because when local people have a say in the health of their food, water, and resources, they are forces for change.

Global Greengrants Fund comprises two organisations located in the USA, Global Greengrants Fund Inc. (established in 1993), and Global Greengrants Fund UK (established in 2012). The two organisations work closely together with a shared grantmaking programme and strategic collaboration at the senior leadership level.

In 2025, Global Greengrants Fund is amid a strategic journey in which we collectively centre our values, including diversity, equity, and inclusion and organisational care in our work, and to rediscover our identity and potential after 30 years of work. The Manager, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Impact (MEI) needs to understand the challenges and opportunities that come with these transformations and be able to remain flexible, steady, and adaptable.

    The role:

Global Greengrants Fund is looking to hire a passionate individual who will play a key role in deepening our culture of learning and accountability across teams and our global advisory network. The Manager, Monitoring, Evaluation, and Impact (MEI) is responsible for leading and coordinating Global Greengrants’ approach to understanding the progress and impact of our collective work, ensuring that monitoring and evaluation efforts are movement-centered, evidence-based, and aligned with our strategic priorities.

This role is central to embedding systems and practices that enable Global Greengrants to reflect, adapt, and grow in service of environmental justice movements worldwide. The Manager, MEI will be a critical resource to the Vice President of Programs by guiding strategic learning initiatives, promoting cross-team collaboration, and ensuring that evaluation processes are both rigorous and accessible.

Their work involves a balance of independent leadership and close partnership with teams and advisors to develop systems that reflect our values, meet donor and movement expectations, and support meaningful knowledge-sharing.

In the current structure, the Manager, MEI, is line managed by the Vice President of Programs. The MEI Manager supports cross-functional collaboration, programmatic data use, and continuous improvement of internal learning and accountability practices. They will help lead and monitor organization-wide initiatives that enhance our collective ability to tell the story of our work, assess impact, and ensure that our processes remain relevant, inclusive, and responsive to the priorities of the communities we serve.

    The candidate profile:

The successful applicant will have significant relevant experience in monitoring, evaluation, and impact within nonprofit, international, or social justice organizations, particularly those working in environmental, feminist, gender, Indigenous, or human rights contexts. They demonstrate strong knowledge of feminist learning frameworks, impact tracking methodologies, and participatory evaluation approaches that center movement-defined outcomes and accountability. They have a strong familiarity with social and environmental justice movements and relevant frameworks.

They have a proven ability to develop, implement, and improve systems, processes, and tools that support evidence-based decision-making, strategic learning, and collective reflection. They have substantial experience with both quantitative and qualitative data collection and analysis, as well as the ability to present insights clearly and accessibly to diverse audiences through dashboards, databases, and reports.

They demonstrate excellent analytical and organizational skills, with a strong attention to detail and the ability to ensure accuracy in data management and reporting. They are skilled at synthesizing complex information and facilitating learning across teams. They have the ability to give, receive, and work with feedback constructively and are committed to fostering a values-aligned environment of trust, equity, and accountability to our work and mission.

They thrive in a virtual, multicultural environment and are motivated to take on challenges while collaboratively developing innovative and creative solutions. Multiple language skills would be ideal, while English fluency is a must.

The right candidate will understand Global Greengrants’ core values and be committed to the guiding principles and mission of the organization, ensuring they uphold them in the way they take up the responsibilities of the role.
