About the Role - Program Manager, Medical Strategy

The Program Manager, Medical Strategy, will play a crucial role in planning, executing, and maintaining all medical and clinical support programs at ACT. This position is central to furthering ACT’s mission of making safe, timely telemedicine abortion readily available throughout the United States.

Reporting to the Director of Medical Strategy, the Program Manager will ensure our day-to-day operations are efficient, compliant, and sustainable, directly driving our ability to expand telemedicine abortion access. This role specifically focuses on delivering quality support and assistance to telemedicine providers, managing critical programs such as our provider network, malpractice coverage, and clinical resource development. This is a unique opportunity to lead the operational excellence and long-term sustainability of vital, cutting-edge healthcare delivery programs.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Program Management & Operations
  • ACT Membership and Provider Relations: Serve as the primary operational point-of-contact for all ACT provider members. Manage and streamline the member onboarding, credentialing, and ongoing engagement process to ensure a robust and active network of telemedicine abortion providers.
  • Malpractice Program Management: Oversee the operational requirements of ACT’s medical malpractice program, including managing documentation, ensuring provider compliance, and facilitating necessary renewals and communication with legal/insurance partners.
  • Clinical Resource Development: In collaboration with the Director of Medical Strategy, manage the development, review, and dissemination of clinical protocols, best practice guides, and educational materials for ACT members, ensuring they reflect the highest standards of evidence-based reproductive healthcare.
• Relationship Management & Representation
  • Medical Organization Outreach: Maintain and strengthen strong, proactive connections with associated national, state, and local medical and clinical organizations (e.g., ACOG, SFP, NPs/Midwifery groups).
  • Clinical Representation: Represent ACT’s clinical team at partner meetings, workshops, and national conferences as needed,
  • Internal Communication: Facilitate clear and consistent communication between the Director of Medical Strategy and the broader ACT team, particularly for updates on clinical operations, provider needs, and program status.
• Planning & Administration
  • Meeting Coordination: Plan and coordinate all logistics for key internal and external ally meetings, including scheduling, creating professional agendas, capturing detailed minutes, and ensuring all follow-up tasks are assigned and completed in a timely manner.
  • Initiative Development: Be responsible for the operational development and execution of new initiatives and projects, translating high-level strategic goals into actionable steps and clear deliverables.

What You’ll Need

• Experience & Sector Expertise: 4-6 years of experience in program management or operations, preferably in a reproductive care or health-focused nonprofit setting. Must demonstrate a clear understanding of reproductive health care delivery in the U.S.
• Operational Excellence: Proven ability to manage complex, multi-faceted projects and translate strategy into actionable steps. Highly organized with intense attention to detail and a track record of meeting strict deadlines.
• Leadership & Accountability: The ability to drive key initiatives, ensure program deadlines are met, and keep internal leadership focused and on track to achieve organizational goals.
• Professional Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including drafting clear operational documents and effectively representing the clinical team to external medical organizations.
