    amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, is seeking a dynamic Corporate Sponsorship Associate.

    amfAR is dedicated to ending the global AIDS epidemic through innovative research. With the freedom and flexibility to respond quickly to emerging areas of scientific promise, amfAR plays a catalytic role in accelerating the pace of HIV/AIDS research and achieving real breakthroughs. amfAR-funded research has increased our understanding of HIV and has helped lay the groundwork for major advances in the study and treatment of HIV/AIDS. Since 1985, amfAR has invested more than $635 million in its programs and has awarded grants to more than 3,800 research teams worldwide.

    PRIMARY FUNCTION:

    Supports the Senior Director in building and maintaining event sponsorships and partnerships that generate cost savings and revenue to strengthen amfAR’s mission impact. Helps identify and approach potential supporters, prepare sponsor proposals, and deliver on partner commitments. In the lead-up to and during events, works with the Special Events team to manage and execute logistics, production needs, and guest services, ensuring successful events.

    DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

      • Researches potential sponsors and creates contact lists.
      • Helps draft outreach emails, schedule sponsor meetings, and track progress in departmental reports.
      • Prepares sponsorship decks, proposals, pricing levels, and activation ideas tailored to each event and partner.
      • Coordinates review and approval of sponsorship materials.
      • Tracks contracts, invoices, and payments in coordination with Legal and Finance departments. Supports contract fulfillment to make sure everything is accurate and on time.
      • Organizes sponsor at-event schedules and manages sponsor-related assets like signage, shipping, and on-site activations.
      • Collects sponsorship results (e.g., attendance, media reach, social coverage) and prepares recap reports.
      • Supports Senior Director in working to secure tables, underwriting, and cultivating event attendees in order to enhance donor engagement and contribute to overall event success and fundraising goals.
      • Keeps Salesforce records, tracking sheets, templates, and case studies up to date.
      • Assists with the planning and execution of events, including logistics, vendor coordination, volunteer management, ticketing, seating, and registration.
      • Works with the Events and Communications teams on photography/video and social media partner needs and approves.
      • Manages sponsor areas on-site, ensures details are correct and troubleshoots live issues.
      • Provides administrative support to the Senior Director and Associate Director.
      • Contributes to event preparation and on-site execution, including logistics, production needs, and guest services.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

    Four-year college degree required. Working knowledge of sponsorship and fundraising principles and practices required. Two years of experience in event fundraising or sponsorship preferred. Excellent verbal, written, organizational, and interpersonal communication skills required. Must have good computer skills with knowledge of business applications and donor database systems. Must be proficient in Word and Excel. Able to travel and maintain extended work hours. Physically capable of carrying up to 25 lbs. of equipment or materials and standing for prolonged periods during events.

    Salary Range: $55,000 to $65,000
