    POSITION SUMMARY

    Urban Alliance is seeking a Data and Evaluation Manager who will be responsible for managing the program-related content of the Salesforce database. This role will work closely with regional team members to ensure program data is entered accurately, on time, and is accessible for reporting. This role will perform quality control and data hygiene tasks, and coordinate documentation, training and follow-up with team members involved in program activities. The Data and Evaluation Manager will create and utilize Salesforce reports and dashboards to monitor program delivery and drive program development and improvement, as well as grant acquisition.

    The Data and Evaluation Manager is excited by opportunities to use technology to optimize processes and ensure data quality, and understands the balance between field-driven solutions and scalable processes and tools. The successful candidate will possess strong methodological, analytical and project management skills, with a proven track record of supporting data management and program evaluations, as well as a willingness to learn.

    The Data and Evaluation Manager will report directly to the National Director of Evaluation and will collaborate closely with national and regional program teams to drive impact at scale.

    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    As the Data and Evaluation Manager, you will:

    Data Management

    • Oversee programmatic data including data pipeline process, data collection, data entry, data cleaning and quality assurance, data extraction and manipulation
    • Manage all program-related data in Salesforce database
    • Identify and understand gaps in data; work with staff to address missing or inaccurate information
    • Create and execute plans to enter, migrate or update historical and current data as needed

    Collaboration and Training

    • Create reference materials, conduct training, and provide technical assistance for staff related to program data collection, entry, quality, and use
    • Support an internal culture of learning and increase staff data literacy and capacity to monitor programmatic data

    Analysis and Reporting

    • Create and maintain Salesforce reports and dashboards that allow staff to monitor programmatic progress, completion, trends, outputs, and key performance indicators
    • Respond to internal requests for additional data, reports, and/or analysis
    • Support external reporting and compliance needs related to donor communications, grant deliverables, and other external reporting

    Evaluation

    • Support program evaluation process including planning, execution, capture and reporting of key metrics
    • Contribute to the creation of evaluation tools including forms, surveys, assessments, and the organization and storage of data sets

    QUALIFCATIONS

    • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline
    • At least three years of relevant work experience, two of which must be in a role requiring data management; prior non-profit experience preferred
    • Expert level proficiency in Microsoft Excel
    • Advanced proficiency in Salesforce, including fundamental understanding of database operations with ability to quickly learn system customizations
    • Significant experience in data management including collection, entry, quality control, manipulation, analysis, and reporting
    • Ability to analyze information, summarize findings, and present actionable recommendations to diverse audiences
    • Knowledge of program evaluation principles and practices; experience conducting evaluation and utilizing results to inform program development and improvement
    • Proven project management skills and ability to prioritize, multitask, and work independently to manage multiple concurrent projects
    • Excellent communication skills with demonstrated ability to train and support staff across multiple locations

The salary for this position is between $70,000 - $80,000 depending on experience. In addition to having paid time off between December 25th and January 1st, earn up to 18 days of paid time off (PTO) plus 10 paid federal holidays, 5 sick days, as well as birthday and diversity paid holidays. After 3 years of employment, additional PTO days are provided. Depending on the calendar, additional paid closure days and early closure days are established each year. Our benefits include a comprehensive health plan with 90% individual healthcare coverage for employees; 403(B) retirement plans with a 3% match; pre-tax commuter, health, and childcare benefits; and whole life insurance.
