    Description

    Overview of Position

    The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for implementing and overseeing all recruitment and community linkages for CIC (Careers in Construction). CIC is a six-week construction training program that prepares unemployed and underemployed residents for entry level apprenticeship opportunities in the union construction industry connecting them with the unionized building trades. This position reports to the Program Director for CIC and will be on-site four days a week at our Gowanus office location.

    Specific Responsibilities

    • Manage recruitment and intake processes to ensure that eligible participants are successfully enrolled in the program.
    • Create and update all CIC (Careers in Construction) program marketing materials.
    • Processes applications and verify applicants meet the eligibility criteria.
    • Responsible for sourcing and screening candidates, preparing information sessions, and conducting follow-ups with potential candidates for the CIC (Careers in Construction) program.
    • Enter and update student and/or program data in Salesforce regularly and as needed/directed.
    • Develop new and sustain existing relationships with community partners and represent Rebuilding Together NYC at community meetings/events ie career fairs, etc.
    • Research and conduct outreach to new community partners.
    • Meet with referral partners regularly to recruit and maintain student wait list, secure student resources (case management and/or transportation support as needed) and ensure successful program referrals.
    • Help with student and graduate retention support and tracking. Organize alumni events to provide retention and career advancement support.

    Qualifications

    • Commitment to the economic mobility of low-income New York City residents.
    • Excellent written and verbal skills.
    • Familiarity with Salesforce and/or CRM databases as well as Microsoft software required.
    • Ability to communicate in clear and encouraging language with a diverse community and staff.
    • Close attention to detail.
    • Ability to work collaboratively and independently.
    • Organized and adept at multi-tasking.
    • Strong interpersonal skills.
    • Comfortability speaking publicly and presenting to large groups.
    • Commitment to professional ethics in working with confidential, sensitive information.
    • Experience working in the nonprofit sector, preferably in an organization focused on workforce development.
    • This position will require availability to work evenings and weekends when scheduled.
