    Description

    Regional Field Organizer – Michigan

    About the Campaign

One Fair Wage is a national organization fighting to raise wages, improve working conditions in the service sector, and end all subminimum wages in the United States. In Michigan, we are running a powerful statewide campaign to win a Living Wage for All, end subminimum wages, and advance a veto referendum campaign to defend workers’ rights.

We’re building a large-scale, worker-led organizing program to collect signatures, mobilize voters, and engage thousands of low-wage workers in the fight for justice.

    About the Role

The Regional Field Organizer will be at the heart of our volunteer program in Michigan. Organizers will recruit, train, and manage volunteers, while supporting field operations across assigned regions. This role is about people — building relationships, motivating volunteers, and developing leaders to power the campaign.

This position reports to the Michigan Campaign Manager and works closely with regional canvass managers and the national organizing team.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Volunteer Recruitment & Engagement
      • Recruit new volunteers through outreach, phone calls, texts, canvassing, and digital engagement.
      • Maintain relationships with volunteers and ensure regular communication.
      • Motivate volunteers to take on increased responsibility and leadership.
    • Training & Leadership Development
      • Run volunteer trainings on signature collection, canvassing, and voter contact.
      • Identify potential volunteer leaders and support their growth.
      • Foster a strong team culture among volunteers in assigned regions.
    • Field Program Support
      • Help coordinate volunteer shifts, phone banks, text banks, canvasses, and events.
      • Track volunteer activity and report results to the Campaign Manager.
      • Ensure volunteers meet signature collection and voter contact goals.
      • Work with coalition partners and community groups to expand volunteer networks.
    • Campaign Operations
      • Support daily field operations in assigned regions.
      • Maintain accurate data entry and tracking in tools like VAN, Mobilize, and Google Sheets.
      • Troubleshoot challenges in the field and escalate issues as needed.

    Who You Are

    A strong candidate will bring:

    • At least one cycle of campaign or organizing experience (volunteer management experience strongly preferred).
    • Residence in Michigan and familiarity with local communities.
    • Strong interpersonal and communication skills; ability to motivate and build trust.
    • Comfort working with diverse groups of people, including low-wage workers, youth, and people new to political engagement.
    • Ability to work long and irregular hours, including evenings and weekends.
    • Basic proficiency with spreadsheets and comfort learning digital tools (VAN, Mobilize, Scale to Win).
    • A strong commitment to economic and racial justice, and a belief in worker power.

    Job Details

    • Compensation: $4000 - $5000 depending on experience.
    • Role Type: Full-time, temporary, exempt.
    • Timeline: Through November 2026.
    • Location: Based in Michigan, with regional travel expected.
