    Position Overview

    Zone 126 is seeking to hire one full-time 21st Century Community Learning Center (21st CCLC) Director of After-School Program for Long Island City High School. The purpose of the 21st CCLC program is to provide services and activities that support students improving academics, attendance, behavior, promotion, and graduation rates. The 21st CCLC Site Director will be a passionate and committed individual who wants to make a difference in the lives of students and their families through the creative arts. This individual will be based at Long Island City High School and will work directly with the Community School Director to support a successful transition from day to after-school. This individual will work closely with an Academic Manager to ensure students are improving academically while also supporting their creative side through the arts. This individual will be largely responsible for program design and implementation that support students’ social emotional needs, while tapping into their creative sides.

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree, but Master’s degree preferred in social work, education, public administration, or non-profit management but not required
    • 5 years working experience within a NYC public school, and/or education non-profit setting, specifically in the community school setting, after-school setting or within youth development, or doing home visiting (strongly preferred)
    • Previous experience working with diverse population
    • Demonstrated record of meeting and exceeding goals and positively impacting children, families, and the community
    • Capacity to develop creative and innovative solutions to support students and families
    • Superior interpersonal and communication skills, both oral and written
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), Outlook and Google)

    Work Location and Schedule

    • The job will be based at Long Island City High School (14-30 Broadway Long Island City, NY 11106) which is easily by the N/W/F trains and Q18/Q69/Q100 bus lines).
    • This position is 100% in person with no option to work remotely, this position will also be active when school is not in session to prepare for when school is in session.
    • Candidates must be available Monday through Friday 10 am-6 pm with potential additional evening or weekend work from time to time with advanced notification.

    Salary and Benefits

    • Annual Salary $67,500K
    • A comprehensive benefits package is available including paid time off, Medical, dental, vision, life insurance, flexible spending, transportation benefits, and 401K.
