    Description

    Do you have a beloved dog or cat in your life or wish you did? Do you want to work with veterinarians and university educators to help improve pet health?

    MMI is a 501(c)(3) private foundation with a mission to provide dog and cat nutrition education resources to the veterinary profession. This position is responsible for daily coordination and ensuring the activities of the Mark Morris Institute are delivered efficiently and effectively. This position works closely with the Executive Director/Chief Academic Officer, MMI Board of Directors, Instructional Designer, MMI Faculty, University Administrators and Course Leaders to accomplish the goals and mission of the Mark Morris Institute.

    This position is a part-time, fully remote position for 15-20 hours per week. Hours are flexible but must have general availability between 9-5 ET on a regular basis (e.g. exclusively working evenings or weekends is not desirable). It is expected that email will be checked and responded to daily during working hours.

    Responsibilities include:

    • general administrative tasks: maintaining electronic records of organization activities, coordinating and scheduling meetings, taking meeting minutes, responding to phone messages and emails from venders, contractors, collaborators, and the general public
    • financial administration: reviewing expense reports, preparing financial reports for the Board, collaborating on development of the yearly budget
    • supporting MMI's teaching mission: keeping the teaching calendar, preparing teaching materials with assistance from the Chief Academic Officer or other experts, coordinating shipping and delivery of teaching materials, administration of course surveys, liaising with faculty and university collaborators, assisting students with issues with the Learning Management System, keeping records of teaching activity and metrics.

    Ideal candidate characteristics include:

    • Passion for pet health and/or education, strong communication skills, excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, good team player, self-motivated, continuously identifies opportunities to enhance efficiency and service while embracing new skills.

    Recommended qualifications:

    • Associate’s degree or greater, at least 1 year of experience in a similar role, fluency with Microsoft Office and/or Google Docs/Sheets/Slides
