    About the Bard Early Colleges (BECs)

    Through a tuition-free, credit-bearing college program in the liberal arts and sciences with robust supports, Bard High School Early College (BHSEC) schools help high school age students, particularly those at risk of not completing post-secondary education, access, afford, and complete college more prepared for the next steps in their academic or civic life, or in their careers. At BHSEC Newark, students have the opportunity to earn up to 60 college credits and an associate in arts (A.A.) degree from Bard College, concurrently with a high school diploma from the Newark Board of Education (NBOE).

    Position Overview:

    The Student Activities Coordinator will oversee, facilitate, and support BHSEC Newark’s in-house extracurricular activities, including student clubs, environmental initiatives, and community service programs. The Coordinator will also communicate information about work and learning opportunities outside of school. S/he will ensure that all student activities are in place and operate effectively.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Manage the student activities program to ensure broad access and engagement
    • Facilitate the continuity, quality and growth of student-driven clubs and activities at BHSEC Newark
    • Apprise students of academic year and summer work and learning opportunities through the publication of a weekly electronic newsletter
    • Coordinate with faculty on field trips and other experiential learning activities
    • Support community outreach for BHSEC Newark
    • Build and maintain community partnerships

    Compensation: $53K-$55k annual salary with benefits

    Position Type: Full-time, on-going

    Start Date: Flexible, October 2025 preferred

    Qualifications

    • Bachelor’s degree or a higher degree
    • Experience managing student activities
    • Experience working with community partners
    • Experience working with high school or college-age students
    • A commitment to working for equity in secondary and higher education
