    Description

    Associate Director of Digital Platforms

    Job Description

Founded in 2012, The Acceleration Project (TAP)’s mission is to empower under-resourced small business owners and accelerate their success by providing high-impact and customized strategic, financial, operational, and marketing support. Small businesses are a vital engine of our economy, and TAP supports entrepreneurs who lack access to critical networks and resources. TAP has worked directly with more than 11,000 small business owners and touched the lives of more than 100,000.

About the Role: Join our dynamic team as our Associate Director, Digital Platforms! This pivotal role will involve managing day-to-day technology operations and implementing innovative solutions to drive our programs and initiatives forward. Working closely with the Senior Director of Technology and the Director of Marketing, you will be responsible for managing our digital technology stack and overseeing the creation and distribution of digital content.

This is a full-time position, with an expectation of 40 hours/week (will consider 4 days/week). This position reports directly to the Senior Director of Technology, with dotted-line accountability to the Marketing Director. The position will be primarily remote, but will require occasional in-person meetings/events in the Metro NYC area. TAP promotes a culture that affords calendar flexibility and control. (and possibly an annual trip to geographic hubs - at this time, the Bay Area in CA). While the schedule is flexible, this individual must respond to communications within 24 hours of receipt.

Additionally, given the nature of working for a nonprofit, we will ask you to support our end-of-year giving and spring benefit fundraising efforts annually by providing the names of potential donors and partners to expand our audience. Your assistance in expanding our contact list with mission-aligned individuals and corporations will enable us to create a larger impact within the communities we serve.

    Key Responsibilities:

    Technology & Data Management

    • Systems Administration: Manage and administer key applications, databases, and cloud platforms, including our donor management system, fundraising platforms, collaboration tools, and the TAP Community Platform. This includes providing ongoing maintenance, troubleshooting, and training for our core technologies.
    • Take ownership: MailChimp, Vimeo, YouTube, Weebly/Square, Wix, Register.com, YouCanBookMe.com, Canva, TAP Community Platform
    • Take supporting role: Salesforce, FormAssembly, Qgiv, Google Workspace, Zoom, Monday.com, Lattice
    • Data Governance & Quality: Oversee data hygiene and security across all digital platforms (including Salesforce, Mailchimp, and our website). You will contribute to data cleansing processes, ensure compliance with IT policies and privacy regulations, and manage a digital asset library on platforms like Google Drive, Vimeo, and Canva.
    • Technology Evaluation: Stay up-to-date with new technology, including advancements in AI, and assess its potential for enhancing organizational efficiency. You will be responsible for recommending and implementing new tools, as well as optimizing our current systems to achieve maximum effectiveness.
    • Onboarding & Support: Offer technical onboarding and training for new team members, as well as provide audio/video support for team meetings.

    Digital Marketing Operations

    • Website Administration: Work closely with the Marketing team to maintain and optimize the TAP website using the Wix platform. You will be responsible for improving site functionality and appearance, as well as applying the latest AEO, SEO, and GEO optimization best practices.
    • Email Marketing: Lead the implementation of strategic email marketing initiatives. This includes segmenting audiences and managing email lists to optimize engagement and conversion rates.
    • Campaign Management: Lead the technology infrastructure and data analysis for all fundraising campaigns. You will implement data-driven strategies to optimize fundraising efforts and donor retention, as well as design data collection methods to ensure accurate tracking of campaign activities.

    Content Distribution and Analytics

    • Content Strategy & Distribution: Distribute a wide range of compelling digital content across platforms, including blog articles, social media posts, newsletters, and video snippets. You will also manage a cross-departmental content calendar.
    • Social Media Management: Manage publishing on TAP’s social media across platforms like LinkedIn, Instagram, and YouTube. You will oversee the distribution of both short- and long-form content to drive engagement and thought leadership.
    • Performance Analytics: Monitor and analyze the performance of our social media, email marketing, and website traffic using tools like Google Analytics. You will extract meaningful insights from this data to inform decision-making, guide ongoing improvements, and report on the effectiveness of our digital efforts.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree required; MBA or advanced degree preferred.
    • Minimum 2-4 years of experience in technology support and/or digital marketing, ideally within a nonprofit or similar environment.
    • Demonstrate success aligning technology initiatives with organizational goals and strategy.
    • Proven proficiency in managing social media platforms, digital marketing tools, and cloud-based systems like Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides).
    • Experience with graphic design and the ability to quickly learn new platforms such as Salesforce, Mailchimp, Monday.com, Lattice, Qgiv, Zoom, Vimeo, Weebly/Square, and Wix.
    • Excellent communication skills—able to explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences, in writing and verbally.
    • Exceptional organizational skills and a proactive, flexible approach to managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    • Experience delivering TAP (or similar) services to clients is a plus.
    • Passionate about TAP’s mission and fostering a collaborative, innovative, and positive workplace culture.
    • Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing job responsibilities and a willingness to upskill as needed to meet evolving organizational demands and challenges
