    Description

    The Director of Human Resources is a senior leadership role responsible for guiding the overall human resources strategy and ensuring effective HR operations across Mazzoni Center. This includes overseeing employment, compensation, benefits, wellness, labor and employee relations, and policy development. The role plays a key part in embedding a values-based culture centered on respect, inclusivity, integrity, and client focus, and in executing the organization’s People Strategy to enhance staff performance and engagement.

    Core Responsibilities:

    1. Leadership & Strategy:
    • Lead and manage all HR functions and staff.
    • Develop, implement, and monitor HR policies and budgets.
    • Ensure legal and regulatory compliance.
    • Support strategic planning and develop HR goals aligned with the organization's mission.
    1. Compensation & Benefits:
    • Administer employee benefits and compensation programs.
    • Manage vendor contracts and negotiations (e.g., health, retirement plans).
    • Promote employee recognition and development initiatives.
    1. Employee & Labor Relations:
    • Lead employee relations, including conflict resolution, investigations, and compliance.
    • Oversee union negotiations and labor matters in collaboration with legal counsel.
    • Manage performance evaluations, onboarding, and staff training programs.
    1. Communication & Culture:
    • Foster an inclusive workplace culture.
    • Provide coaching to leadership on employee relations.
    • Maintain strong internal communication and positive working relationships.

    This position demands strategic thinking, multi-tasking, leadership, and strong interpersonal skills in a fast-paced, values-driven environment.

    1. Eligibility Requirements:

    Education & Training:

    • 5+ years of experience leading HR functions in a multi-site environment.
    • Demonstrated leadership by managing others in a direct reporting relationship
    • Master’s Degree in Human Resources, business administration, healthcare administration or related field; Society of Human Resources Management (SHRM) Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) or SHRM Certified Professional (SHRM-CP) credential preferred.

    Experience:

    • Broad knowledge and experience in employment law, compensation, organizational planning, organization development, employee relations, safety, and training and development.
    • Comprehensive knowledge of labor and employment laws and regulations and their administration and application.
    • Expertise in education and administration of Family and Medical Leave Act, Workers Compensation, Americans with Disabilities Act, and other associated programs.
    • Expertise in policy development, implementation and administration.
    • Excellent interpersonal and coaching skills.
    • Demonstrated ability to serve as a successful participant on an executive management team that provides company leadership and direction.
    • Track record in dealing effectively and collaboratively with a unionized workforce and in-depth understanding of federal laws and National Labor Relations Board regulations.

    Clearances:

    • Background checks are required, including Criminal Background Clearance, Child Abuse Clearance, and FBI Clearance.
