Education, art, emotional well-being, and/or physiological needs are all parts of the inner growth that helps to sustain life and the neighborhood. Therefore, the goal of the center is to provide a wide range of opportunities for people to find inner nourishment, whether by attending classes, learning to use a computer, or sharing experiences over a cup of coffee.

    Grants and Evaluation Associate Position

    A central part of Clay Pots’ mission is to sustain and expand community-based programming that promotes healing, learning, and connection. To support this mission, we are hiring a part-time Grants and Evaluation Associate to strengthen our development and evaluation capacity. This role will be instrumental in maintaining and expanding the organization’s funding streams and in helping us better understand and communicate our impact.

    Key Responsibilities

    Grants Administration & Development

    • Research and identify grant opportunities aligned with our mission and programs
    • Coordinating with program, finance, and leadership teams to gather necessary information and data for proposals and reports
    • Assist with writing, editing, and submitting compelling grant proposals, including narratives,and supporting documentation
    • Draft and prepare documents such as grant applications, proposals, reports, fundraising communications
    • Track grant deadlines and ensure timely and accurate grant application submissions, reporting, and compliance
    • Tracking grant progress and reporting on grant outcomes and impact
    • Maintain accurate grant and donor records using Instrumentl software and other databases
    • Stay abreast of guidelines and schedules from donors, and continuously expand knowledge and capability to meet the organization’s growing needs

    Program Evaluation

    • Conduct focus groups with participants/staff to collect supporting qualitative/quantitative data from ongoing programs
    • Perform accurate data entry into tracking systems
    • Assist with developing data-informed narratives for grants and reports

    General Fundraising

    • Assist in cultivating and maintaining positive fundraising relationships
    • Plan and support fundraising events in collaboration with executive director

    Collaboration & Meetings

    • Attend and actively participate in weekly grants and development meetings and bi-weekly All-Staff meetings
    • Coordinate with Executive Director to stay attuned to Clay Pots program development needs, outcomes, and data collection requirements
    • Support organizational culture of philanthropy and community partnership building
    • Represent Clay Pots at occasional external events and community outreach activities and/or assisting with other fundraising activities and donor engagement efforts as needed

    Qualifications

    • Minimum two years of experience in nonprofit grant writing, development, or related administrative work
    • Understanding of the grant writing process and broader fundraising strategies
    • Strong writing, editing, and research skills with an ability to communicate clearly and concisely across diverse audiences
    • High level of professionalism, reliability, and confidentiality
    • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
    • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a mission-driven, team-oriented inclusive environment supporting diverse partners
    • Experience or demonstrated interest in community development, social justice, or grassroots organizing
    • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a willingness to take initiative and problem-solve
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google Workspace, familiarity with Adobe Acrobat
    • Familiarity with grant management tools such as Instrumentl and data management tools such as Bonterra/Apricot, or similar systems; comfort learning new digital tools and platforms
    • Ability to remain flexible and adaptable with a curious, creative, humorous, and a collaborative spirit

    Physical Demands

    As the position is primarily remote with regular in-person meetings or program site visits, the incumbent must be able to communicate clearly via phone and video conferencing platforms (e.g., Zoom, Teams). While performing the duties of this job, the incumbent is regularly required to talk, hear, stand, walk; use hands to handle or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The incumbent is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, lift files, open filing cabinets, bend or stand on a stool, etc.

    Hours: This is a contractual position with up to 20 hours per week with 8hrs required onsite hours per week. On-site availability may increase during grant rollouts, focus group needs and remote productivity. During onboarding and for the first 2 weeks of employment, all work will be done on site. This is a grant-funded position and is contingent, annually, on grant funding. Funding is secured through July, 2026.

    Compensation: $18-$25 Per hour, Depending on experience

    Location: Hybrid-Remote/Onsite
