    POSITION: Community and Program Manager

    REPORTS TO: Culture and Program Director

    HOURS: Average 25-32 hours per week: Tuesdays, Fridays, other days to be negotiated, plus occasional evenings and weekends

    COMPENSATION: $30 per hour + 100% Employer Paid Employee Health & Dental Insurance Premium + 75% Employer Paid Health & Dental Insurance Premium for Dependents

    Job Overview

    The Community and Program Manager is responsible for the evolving, collaborative function of Outside the Frame’s shared youth-serving spaces. Primary responsibilities include: ensuring participants have access to the resources available, including equipment, creative mentorship, food, and work opportunities; evolving our creative service model to meet participants skillfully and sustainably as conditions and needs shift; nurturing our community connections (individual and organizational) to ensure information sharing and continuity of care for our participants; leading our Program team from within, through modeling, collaboration, direct supervision, and training.

    Responsibilities and Duties:

    • Guide and evolve direct service model at Outside the Frame
      • Weekly programming and Intensives
      • Recruiting and aging out practices
      • Shared space guidelines, conflict resolution, boundaries and consent
      • Maintenance of physical space to best meet the community’s needs
      • Develop and implement bridges to resource navigation
      • Build and maintain relationships with other social service agencies
    • Documentation, Collaboration & Supervision
      • Help train, guide and document Outside the Frame guidelines and policies for all youth-facing service providers, including staff, temporary employees, and contractors
      • Maintain records of youth served, staff trained, and partner organization contacts
      • Weekly Check ins with program staff; year end reviews
      • Staff meetings, brain storms, events

    Skills you need for this job:

    • Excellent written and interpersonal communication skills, able to communicate effectively with peers, educators, program participants, contractors etc.
    • Deep knowledge of homeless services in Portland, OR, including policy, resources and relationships
    • Experience with Google Drive or comparable

    Logistics

    • 5 years of experience in direct service with vulnerable populations, preferably homeless youth; and/or
    • 5 years of experience in youth empowerment programming; and/or
    • 5 years of demonstrated job growth/responsibility increasing over time
    • Able to lift 25 lbs
