    Description

    The Senior Manager, Data Operations will lead FEF in successful implementation of CRM tools, including Salesforce Non-Profit Success Pack, across teams while building and maintaining effective dashboards and reports. They will support developing dynamic organization-wide assessments and provide ongoing data analysis and interpretation for internal and external reporting.

    They will own organization-wide data operational systems, including project management systems, cloud storage, business accounts, ordering platforms, and team calendars. They will develop best-practices and provide training and support to staff on evaluation and data analysis, and CRM and logistics systems.

    RESPONSIBILITIES:

    CRM Management and Administration (35%)

    • Oversee day-to-day Salesforce Non-Profit Success Pack administration, including system configuration, maintenance, and enhancements
    • Collaborate with stakeholders to design and implement scalable solutions that support programmatic, operational, and fundraising goals
    • Configure custom objects, fields, workflows, validation rules, and automation tools to optimize platform performance
    • Integrate Salesforce with third-party tools for assessments, event management, email marketing, donation processing, and more
    • Lead technology change management initiatives, ensuring smooth adoption and alignment with organizational priorities
    • Engage in relevant professional development opportunities to stay current with Salesforce advancements and nonprofit technology trends
    • Build relationships within the wider Salesforce and nonprofit tech communities to leverage shared knowledge and best practices

    Data Analysis and Interpretation (35%)

    • Collaborate with leadership and program leads to determine annual, quarterly, and sporadic data collection and analysis needs
    • Collect, clean, prepare and merge data sets for analysis
    • Conduct primary and secondary analysis of qualitative and quantitative data collected from a variety of sources, including, but not limited to, pre and post-program surveys and interviews, program participant intake forms, Salesforce program data, and publicly available databases
    • Contribute to the development of findings that identify trends and common lessons across various program models
    • Turn complex data sets into compelling, easy-to-understand narratives that engage and inform stakeholders, both internally and externally
    • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in data analytics and storytelling and apply this knowledge to improve the organization’s analytics and insights capabilities
    • Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations, using tools such as Question Pro, Looker, PowerBI, Microsoft tools or similar to share regularly with leadership

    Data Operations Management (15%)

    • Leads development of SOPs and usage of operational tools organization-wide, including Slack, Asana, Formstack, and Cloud storage
    • Manages shared operations including owning business accounts, ordering, reservations, and calendars
    • Under the direction of leadership, support with organization-wide finance and budget systems.

    Support and training (10%)

    • Provide user support to staff, ensuring effective usage and troubleshooting of Salesforce and related technologies
    • Design and deliver training sessions and user documentation to empower staff with best practices and ongoing development of skills in use of CRM, evaluation, data analysis, and operational tools
    • Foster a culture of learning and continuous improvement across teams regarding CRM practices and data management

    Other duties as assigned (5%)

    REPORTING STRUCTURE: The Senior Manager will report directly to the Senior Program Director with auxiliary responsibilities to the Leadership Team.

    EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

    • Degree in business, computer/data science, non-profit operations, or related field, or comparable work experience
    • 3+ years of progressive Salesforce administration experience, ideally with the Non-Profit Success Pack
    • A high level of proficiency in producing Salesforce reporting for programs and development
    • Ability to analyze and interpret complex data sets, reports, research and translate findings into actionable insights
    • Strong analytical and data visualization skills, with a deep understanding of data-driven storytelling principles and techniques
    • A comprehensive understanding of business operations systems and technologies
    • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and adjust to changing priorities
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to work collaboratively and support a team
    • Familiarity with nonprofit organizations and an understanding of the unique challenges and opportunities in the sector is preferred
    • Ability to sit and stand for extended periods
    • Ability to lift and carry 25 pounds

    COMPENSATION: The salary for this position is commensurate with experience and will be $72,000-80,000.

    WORK SCHEDULE

    This will be a full-time hybrid position, with a schedule to be determined in consultation with the leadership team. The role will be approximately 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, with occasional evening and Saturday commitments based on special events and travel within the 5 boroughs of NYC. All FEF employees must pass a complete background check in alignment with the DOE requirements prior to start date.
