National Family Justice (NFJ) is a nationwide nonprofit committed to protecting children, defending constitutional rights, and restoring justice for families navigating the legal system. NFJ supports those impacted by custodial interference, legal abuse, coercive control, parental alienation dynamics, and domestic violence. Our mission includes educating professionals on trauma, child development, and post-separation abuse while advocating for policy reforms such as equal shared parenting and legal protections for survivors.
NFJ leads reform efforts at both the state and federal level, including the Colonel Lance Sneed Military Justice Protection Act and Survivor Benefit Integrity Act, which seek to disqualify convicted abusers from receiving military retirement and survivor benefits. Our programs include public education, legal advocacy, military family justice initiatives, and a national peer support program led by trauma-informed professionals. With active legislation in over 20 states and partnerships with leading experts, NFJ empowers families, informs policy, and helps transform family court. Volunteers are essential to our work-contributing to legal research, legislative outreach, peer support, and public awareness.
