About Us

Borderline Books collects unwanted books from publishers, libraries and individuals and redistributes them free of charge to organizations working with refugees, (former) prisoners, women and children fleeing domestic abuse, homeless people, young people's hostels and others who have little or no access to books.

We are very interested in finding more people to run BookSpaces around the UK and other places - steal our logo if you promise never to charge for the books! The project would be a brilliant start for people just leaving prison, for instance. They can learn a variety office skills and other things. A project like this can be led by the volunteers themselves, combined with literacy groups, language classes or almost anything else you care to think up. We have a 'recipe' to show how simple the concept really is - please get in contact if you'd like to know more.
