  • Mission

At CHAP, children are known for their creativity and ingenuity - not by their disease, diagnosis, or disability. Children’s Healing Art Project (CHAP) brings the healing power of art to children and families facing medical challenges. Our innovative and inclusive healing arts programs are provided free of charge to children, teens and families affected by pediatric illness, disability, or special need.

    About Us

Since 2006, CHAP has provided over 100,000 healing art experiences across the Portland area. Your support enables us to continue offering these vital programs, including:

    • CHAP Hospital Programs, where pediatric patients and families enjoy weekly creative outlets during inpatient stays and clinic visits.
    • CHAP Art Club, brings art-making experiences to children with medical challenges outside the hospital setting, offering ongoing opportunities to create in our CHAP studio.
    • CHAP in a Box, delivers themed art kits directly to the homes of children and siblings living outside the Portland area, complete with quality art supplies like paints, brushes, modeling clay, and more.
