    About Us

    Recognized by the Houston Food Bank as a PDO in April 2012, the Galveston County Food Bank is a nonprofit organization that has provided food for people at risk of hunger throughout Galveston County for twelve years; founded as Gleanings From The Harvest.

    The Galveston County Food Bank is recognized as the county's major hunger-relief organization working to end food poverty throughout Galveston County. Our mission is to end hunger in Galveston County by mobilizing food, providing information and support for the community's survival and its dignity. As the county's hub for integrated food assistance, the Food Bank tackles the hunger issue in collaboration with its participating agencies.
