  • Mission

Upward Transitions is committed to preventing generational poverty through community collaboration, emergency assistance and empowerment, therefore inspiring hope with our neighbors experiencing housing instability.

    About Us

Upward Transitions is a private, non-profit agency founded in 1925 and incorporated in 1927. Upward Transitions serves families and individuals who are homeless, at risk of becoming homeless, or stranded by providing case management and stabilizing resources to help meet basic social needs. Our ultimate goal is to assist individuals and families during times of financial devastation, so they remain - or can return to being - productive contributors to their community. We receive support from a diverse set of funding sources including the United Way, private foundations, federal, county, and city grants. We coordinate the REACH network, which provides monthly education, resource showcasing, and networking to about 50 agencies that work with individuals and families who are in need or homeless. Upward Travelers Aid also coordinates Travelers Aid Volunteer Program for two information booths at Will Rogers World Airport.

Upward Transitions was presented with the 2018 ESCCO Harry Perry Award winner for nonprofit excellence for demonstrating excellence in nonprofit management and a capability for sustained successful operations based on a review by ESCCO consultants.
