    About Us

    Founded in 1985, the Food Bank's primary purpose is to collect and distribute nutritious food to people experiencing food insecurity in Alameda County. The Food Bank accomplishes this through its network of ~400 community partners which includes food pantries, soup kitchens, residential and day programs, shelters, and schools. In the 2023-24 Fiscal Year, the Alameda County Community Food Bank distributed almost 60 million pounds of food to provide food assistance to an estimated 400,000 Alameda County residents.
