Childsplay International

  • Mission

ChildsPlay International's (CPI) mission is to foster greater opportunities for vulnerable children to play, learn, and develop while preserving local culture.

At CPI, play is fundamental to a child’s growth and we help create opportunities for play and learning in situations where it has been limited, such as during times of war, natural disaster, displacement or famine.

Together with local teams, we cultivate lasting play initiatives that respect and preserve diverse cultures, ensuring sustainable impact for generations to come.

    About Us

ChildsPlay International (CPI) is a nonprofit creating opportunities for play and free education in communities affected by war, famine, and disaster.

    • Our programs are affordable and designed for areas with limited internet access and financial hardship, often using “pop-up classrooms” to reach children where they are.
    • Our global storytelling program helps children, families, and schools heal and learn through play-based methods.
    • We equip local teachers and leaders with manuals and guidance, who in turn share reports and collect stories.
    • CPI recently published its first book — with a foreword by award-winning author Andrea Davis Pinkney — showcasing the success and reach of our programs across 12 countries. - find our more here.
