Austin Partners In Education

  • Mission

APIE provides college and career readiness support through individualized academic and mentoring programs to prepare students for success.

    About Us

Austin Partners in Education (APIE) is a nonprofit organization established in 2004 to serve the students of the Austin Independent School District (AISD). We serve students at over 25 middle and high school campuses, with the help of hundreds of dedicated volunteers within the community.

A brief overview of our programs follows:

    • Math Classroom Coaching: Volunteers meet weekly with small groups of students during math class to help increase students' understanding of math. Volunteer involvement increases students' engagement and their academic self-confidence.
    • Secondary Mentoring: Volunteers dedicate an hour out of their week to provide one-on-one student support at a middle or high school. Mentors positively impact students by helping them deal with day-to-day challenges, develop social-emotional skills, and improve their educational experience.
    • College Readiness: Advocates (APIE staff) help high school students across AISD’s seven Early College High Schools in developing their college readiness in the areas of reading, writing, and math; students also meet with their Advocate to discuss post-secondary plans and navigate the steps necessary to preparing for success in postsecondary life.
