    Description

    Grant Writer

    Our mission is to provide a safe space and offer mental health and well-being services to refugee students and their families, in hopes to lessen the stigma around mental health.

    Our volunteer opportunities are between 3 to 6-month and after you complete that set time, we perform an evaluation and decide on the next steps. You can either join as a long-term volunteer, or staff member, or part ways with organizations.

    Grant Writer Responsibilties

    • Create strong, mission-aligned grant proposals that reflect Safe Haven Space's commitment to refugee mental health and well-being.
    • Gather and analyze program data and relevant materials to ensure proposals meet each funder's specific requirements.
    • Regularly research and identify potential grant opportunities from government and private sources that align with Safe Haven Space’s goals and program needs.
    • Maintain a list of relevant funding sources and stay updated on new grant announcements.
    • Draft clear, concise, and impactful grant proposals and related documents.
    • Present proposals to Board Members for review and approval, incorporating any feedback before submission.
    • Track all grant applications, deadlines, and outcomes, keeping a detailed log of each.
    • Submit progress reports on funded grants to the Board and ensure compliance with reporting requirements from funders.
    • Attend bi-weekly meetings with the Committee to strategize and synchronize efforts.
    • Coordinate with team members and attend general Safe Haven Space meetings to stay informed of program needs and to communicate progress.
