    Description

    Be the Hope on the Line

    Every year, more than 10,000 people in Thurston and Mason Counties reach out to the Crisis Clinic. As a Volunteer Crisis Line Advocate, you’ll be that steady presence for our callers, where you will offer hope, connection, and tailored local resources that help people through their toughest moments.

    All advocates complete immersive training in crisis intervention and, once prepared, respond to calls from our confidential location in Thurston County with the support and guidance of our staff.

    What You’ll Do

    • Answer calls on our 24/7 crisis line with empathy and compassion.
    • Provide confidential crisis intervention, emotional support, and resource referrals tailored to each caller’s needs.
    • Maintain accurate and confidential call documentation.
    • Join a caring network of volunteers and staff who are deeply committed to our community.

    • Ensuring that anyone in Thurston and Mason Counties has someone to turn to, day or night, when they need a listening ear and judgment-free support.

    • Making sure that support is available to everyone regardless of income, background, or circumstance.

    Requirements

    • 18+ years old (15–17 with guardian consent)
    • Washington State Patrol background check
    • Commitment of at least one 4-hour shift per week
    • Willingness to maintain confidentiality and approach every call with compassion
