Curious about cockatoos, amazons, African greys, or even macaws? Volunteering at Rhode Island Parrot Rescue is a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience with a wide variety of parrot species.
Our birds come from many different backgrounds, but they all share one thing-they love attention! As a volunteer, you’ll learn about the joys and challenges of keeping companion parrots, and discover why they are now the third most relinquished companion animal, right behind dogs and cats.
Start time: 9:00 AM
Location: Warwick, RI
What you’ll do:
Clean cages and aviaries
Support daily nutrition and husbandry routines
Midday toy safety checks & parrot enrichment
Training, fresh waters, and food bowl maintenance
No experience? No problem. We’ll train you!
Come spend your morning making a real difference-for them, and for you.
By giving your time, you help us continue our mission:
- To find loving, permanent homes for our birds
- To educate the public on the complex needs of parrots in captivity
- To give each bird the care and enrichment they deserve
Whether you're young or young at heart, there's a place for you here!
