We are seeking passionate and committed volunteer board members to join our leadership team. Board members play a vital role in guiding Sow America’s vision, ensuring organizational sustainability, and serving as ambassadors for our mission in the community.
Responsibilities
- Mission Stewardship - Uphold and actively promote Sow America’s mission, values, and goals.
- Strategic Leadership - Participate in setting and reviewing organizational strategy, priorities, and performance.
- Fundraising & Advocacy - Assist in identifying funding opportunities, making introductions, and personally supporting fundraising campaigns.
- Community Engagement - Act as a visible representative of Sow America, building relationships with community leaders, partners, and donors.
- Program Support - Provide input and expertise to strengthen educational programs in agriculture, entrepreneurship, and self-improvement.
- Governance - Attend board meetings, review materials in advance, and participate in decision-making.
- Compliance - Ensure the organization adheres to ethical and legal standards.
Qualifications
- Passion for regenerative agriculture, community building, and education.
- Willingness to dedicate time, expertise, and resources to advance the mission.
- Experience in one or more of the following areas is helpful (but not required): nonprofit governance, agriculture, entrepreneurship, education, marketing, fundraising, or community development.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
Time Commitment
- Attend bi-weekly board meetings (in person or virtual).
- Contribute 4-6 hours per month to committee work, outreach, and events.
- Serve a 2-year term (renewable).
