    Description

Become a brain change buddy for a person with Alzheimer's! Help them to pursue their passion and purpose at the volunteer site of their choice (can include Wonder Gardens, Shy Wolf Sanctuary, The Naples Players, Botanical Gardens, Habitat for Humanity ...). This volunteer opportunity allows you to build a relationship with a senior in your community who has dementia, which we call brain change. This a unique opportunity to get to know a member of your community more and give them the kindness and understanding they need to feel comfortable in a new environment! You will volunteer with them every week for a couple of hours for as long as you are available.

At volunteer sites, Brain Change Buddies provide a sense of community and support for the individual with brain change. At the site, volunteers build a connection with their partner while performing activities together. These activities range, but include: sewing, providing customer support, assisting with set building, costume designing, sales support, or caring for animals. The type of activities performed depends on the business site and the abilities of your partner.
