    Description

Project: VISION is a small grassroots organization providing free after school programs such as tutoring, mentoring college and career readiness, service learning, and leadership training to youth ages 12-18, primarily from low-income, first generation immigrant families, in Chicago's Chinatown, Bridgeport, and surrounding communities.

Since 2004, we've served over 2,000 community youth, but want to reach out to even more! To accomplish this, we are working to grow our Board of Directors. We are looking for enthusiastic individuals who are passionate about youth development and education to help us grow our nonprofit organization. In particular, we are prioritizing prospective Board members with:

    • Fundraising and marketing/communications experience and skills
    • Strong networking and relationship-building skills
    • Meaningful connection to the Greater Chinatown community

Time commitment varies, but typical board members spend an estimated 8-10 hours/month. This includes board meetings (monthly), committee meetings, events attendance, and other outreach/networking activities.
