    ACS EMPOWER Logistics Lead Position:

    ACS EMPOWER is a program offered at all American Cancer Society Hope Lodge locations. This program brings free education and support to people with cancer, offering sessions that help foster holistic wellbeing, community connection, navigation, and emotional support. Logistics Volunteers may assist in a variety of ways to support ACS EMPOWER program and event logistics. Responsibilities include but may not be limited to scheduling programming, social media support, set up and removal of equipment, general clean up and program data collection efforts. Join us and help brighten the day of cancer patients and their caregivers.

    Responsibilities Logistics:

    * Event space/room scheduling

    * Equipment set up and take down - general clean up pre and post event

    * Ensure proper signage is displayed at events

    * Vendor/volunteer/facilitator confirmations for events

    * Set up and review of necessary equipment for events is in working order

    * Maintain a list of ACS EMPOWER supply needs for Hope Lodge manager

    * Promote program through approved social media activities - take pictures, ensure waivers are secured

    Evaluation & Reporting:

    * Check-in guests for events

    * Ensure distribution of ACS EMPOWER surveys are facilitated pre and post event programming.

    * Complete metrics reports as requested

    Requirements

    * Age requirement - 18 and older

    * Complete ACS volunteer onboarding/training and pass required background check

    * Computer skills

    * Customer service oriented; punctual; reliable; good listener

    * Emotional maturity; active listening skills; compassionate; maintain appropriate boundaries with guests; ability to handle challenging situations discretely, able to multitask or pivot plans in fast paced situations

    * Detail oriented; administrative skills

    * Commitment to following Hope Lodge policies & procedures

    Time Requirements
    Time and Term Commitment

    * Minimum of 1 year commitment to serve in this role.

    * The majority of programming happens onsite Monday through Friday.

    * Minimum 8-15 hours per week.

    * Hours may vary by Lodge and programming.

    * Some opportunities will fall outside normal business hours. (evenings/weekends)
