    Social Media Copywriter (Remote/Unpaid Volunteer)

    Join Empowered Futures as a Social Media Copywriter and help shape the future for emerging adults as they transition into adulthood. We are a forward-thinking nonprofit committed to building confident, emotionally intelligent, and resourceful young adults through self-empowerment, mentorship, and community support.

    We are seeking a talented and creative Social Media Copywriter to join our marketing and communications team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting compelling, on-brand, and engaging short-form content across various social media platforms. You will collaborate closely with designers, marketers, and content strategists to ensure our messaging resonates with our audience and drives engagement.

    Responsibilities:

    • Write, edit, and optimize copy for short-form content such as social media posts, captions, ad copy, and headlines.
    • Collaborate with the creative team to align copy with visuals for maximum impact.
    • Maintain and adapt the brand voice across multiple platforms, including Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, LinkedIn, and X (Twitter).
    • Work with the marketing and design hub team to develop copy for campaigns and promotional initiatives.
    • Edit and refine existing short-form content to improve clarity, engagement, and performance.
    • Monitor and analyze content performance, making data-driven recommendations for improvement.
    • Ensure all content is consistent, free from grammatical errors, and optimized for platform-specific best practices.

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Journalism, or related field (Education in English language is preferred).
    • 2+ years of experience in copywriting, preferably for social media or digital marketing.
    • Proven track record of creating and editing short-form content that drives engagement.
    • Strong understanding of social media platforms, trends, and best practices.
    • Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with attention to detail.
    • Ability to adapt writing style to different audiences, platforms, and formats.
    • Creative thinker with excellent storytelling and brand voice consistency skills.
    • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and meeting deadlines.
    • Experience with social media analytics tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Meta Business Suite) is a plus

    Must be able to attend weekly Marketing Meetings (Mondays at 6pm EST). This is a part-time, unpaid position (8 - 10 hours a week).
