    Food Stamp Application Assistant

    The Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program, SNAP provides more food assistance to households then any other program in the USA.

    At Turning Points, the SNAP Food Stamp Assistant is responsible for helping clients overcome the hurdles in the application process of obtain food stamps, Medicaid and cash assistance. Volunteers do direct service, one on one, with those who are food insecure and vulnerable and need assistance when applying for food stamps.

    Special Skills/Requirements:

     Intermediate computer skills and knowledge of Google Sheets

     Strong organizational and interviewing skills

     Ability to communicate clearly via phone, in person, and with written media

     Appreciate need for consistency and precision

     Daily reporting and general clerical skills

     HIPPA confidentiality mandatory
