    Fundraising & Events Coordinator

    Fundraising Team - Groups Are Welcomed!

    African Voices is seeking a self-motivated Fundraising & Events Coordinator to join the team. Candidates must have some fundraising and event management experience. Ideal for leaders who want to make a difference by supporting an established non-profit organization with a 33-year track record of service in the art, literary and film community.

    Candidates must possess a passionate love for arts and have a track record in leading online fundraising drives. Candidates must be willing to commit 15 hours a month to working with our staff to help achieve the organization's goals. Roll up your sleeves to make a profound contribution and investment in supporting artists, young people and women of color. Your leadership and enthusiasm will help drive the organization's growth for generations to come! You have excellent interpersonal, writing, and communications skills, in addition to a sharp attention to detail. You must be able to work independently and have the ability to work with a team. Solution driven leaders are a perfect for African Voices.

    You will report to your progress to our Fundraising Chair and Executive Director. Set your own goals - would you like to raise $500 or $5,000 by reaching 10 or 100 supporters?

    Candidates will duties include:

    • Support management team in developing fundraising plans and securing new donors.
    • Develop and support social media and email fundraising campaigns, working in collaboratively with our Board and staff
    • Support with successfully managing crowdfunding campaigns
    • Organize fundraising events to attract new members and donors
    • Boost visibility of organization's ongoing crowdfunding campaigns
    • Coordinate and oversee all event operations and carefully supervise event preparation activities.
    • Exceptional candidates will have experience in fundraising, donor management, event planning/coordination, public relations, or a similar field.

    Commitment

    This is a volunteer opportunity with a community of 5-6 hours a week (15 hours a month). Ideal for leaders wishing to make an impact in their local community. Retirees and graduate students are welcomed to apply. This is a hybrid opportunity. Many tasks can be handled virtually.
