Board of Directors - Crosswalk Ministries USA

Location: Metro Atlanta / Henry County, GA (hybrid—virtual meetings available)

    Cause Area: Youth • Education • Community • Faith-based

Great for: Early-career professionals and experienced leaders

Help us change the trajectory for at-risk youth—lend your skills, networks, and heart as a bridge-building board member.

    About Crosswalk

Crosswalk Ministries USA reduces juvenile crime and addresses its root causes by providing preventive and aftercare programs for youth at risk and justice-involved teens. We pair academic support with arts, sports, life skills, and family services so students can thrive at home, at school, and in the community.

    The Role

We’re building a dynamic, community-connected Board of Directors. We welcome young and seasoned professionals from any industry or discipline who are:

    • Community connectors and bridge builders
    • Passionate about at-risk youth and second chances
    • Ready to use their skills and networks for impact

    What You’ll Do

    • Governance & Strategy: Help set mission-aligned goals, review outcomes, and support sustainable growth.
    • Ambassadorship: Open doors—introduce Crosswalk to peers, employers, churches, civic groups, and local leaders.
    • Fund Development: Participate in fundraising (events, peer-to-peer, corporate/faith partners, matches, in-kind).
    • Community Partnerships: Strengthen ties with schools, courts, businesses, and neighborhood organizations.
    • Executive Support: Advise staff in your area of expertise (finance, legal, HR, marketing, education, tech, operations, etc.).

    Time Commitment

    • Board meetings: Quarterly (virtual/hybrid); occasional special sessions.
    • Committee service: 2–4 hours/month (Finance, Programs, Development/Fundraising, Marketing/Comms, Community Partnerships/Outreach).
    • Term length: 2 years (renewable).

    What We’re Looking For

    • Professionals of any background (business, trades, nonprofit, government, education, legal, finance, HR, healthcare, tech, creative).
    • Early-career leaders welcome—mentorship provided.
    • Strong integrity, teamwork, and follow-through.
    • Comfortable engaging your network and championing youth success.

    What You’ll Get

    • Real, local impact in the lives of teens and families
    • Leadership experience and mentorship (great for résumés and career growth)
    • A mission-driven peer network across sectors
    • Joy of seeing students succeed—in school, at work, and at home

    Give/Get & Onboarding

    • Board members participate in fundraising; personal goals are set collaboratively after onboarding (cash, corporate matching, peer-to-peer, or in-kind support all count).
    • Crosswalk covers background checks (standard for youth-serving orgs) and provides an onboarding toolkit.
