We are seeking a prep cook to assist in preparing menu items in an efficient and consistent manner, following the specifications, recipes, and techniques defined by the chef.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Adhere to prep list with attention to detail
- Excellent knife skills and manual dexterity
- Understanding of basic cooking and preparation practices
- Familiarity with safe and sanitary food handling and preparation
- Perform basic cooking tasks (sear/mark meat, reduce sauces, parcook foods, etc.)
- Good math skills with a clear understanding of cooking measurements
- Strong sense of smell and taste
- Ensure appropriate food storage and labeling
- Great collaboration and teamwork skills
- Effective communication skills
Prep Cook Requirements and Qualifications:
- Love of cooking and accompanying cooking skill
- Basic food handling and preparation knowledge
- Familiarity with health and safety kitchen rules and regulations
- Accuracy and speed in executing assigned tasks
- Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills
