    About Women’s Bean Project

    For over 30 years, Women’s Bean Project has been helping women break the cycle of chronic unemployment and poverty. Through transitional employment in our food manufacturing business, we provide job training, wraparound support, and the skills women need to create lasting self-sufficiency. Every purchase of our products fuels our mission-and every board member helps shape our impact.

    The Opportunity

    We are seeking passionate, committed leaders to join our Board of Directors. As a board member, you will help guide the strategic vision, ensure financial health, and champion the mission of Women’s Bean Project in the community and beyond. You will work alongside a diverse group of professionals who believe in the power of economic opportunity to transform lives.

    What We’re Looking For

    We welcome applicants from a variety of backgrounds and are especially interested in individuals with expertise in:

    • E-Commerce - Growing online sales, brand presence, and digital marketing impact
    • Education - Workforce development, adult learning, and trauma-informed training
    • Manufacturing - Food production, operations, supply chain, and food safety practices
    • Parole/Justice - Reentry services and restorative justice expertise
    • Product Development - Consumer goods, food innovation, and new product cycles
    • Public Policy - Advocacy, government relations, and economic mobility initiatives
    • Social Media - Mission-driven storytelling, platform strategy, and audience growth
    • Technology - IT, inventory/accounting systems, and e-commerce integration
    • Equity and Inclusion - Advancing racial, gender, and economic equity in organizations and communities
