    Stone Zoo Ambassador

    Zoo Ambassadors educate visitors at the Zoo and inspire them to help animals and the environment.

    This volunteer opportunity is for friendly, out-going individuals that enjoy meeting new people, talking to families and children, and have an interest in animals, conservation, or education. This is a great role for people who like to be outside, want to learn about animals, and like talking to people!

    Zoo Ambassadors are trained by Zoo staff and other volunteers in zoo and animal information, so all you need to have already is a willingness to learn.

    - Zoo Ambassadors must be 16+.

    - Available all year round!

    - Zoo Ambassadors must complete at least one, three-hour shift per week between 10:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.

    What is the process for becoming a Zoo Volunteer?

    Step 1: Fill out an application at http://www.zoonewengland.org/jobs-volunteering/volunteers

    Step 2: Complete an interview with a Stone Zoo staff member

    Step 3: Come to a 4 hour orientation at the Zoo

    Step 4: Further training depending on your role

    Step 5: Your first shift as a Zoo New England volunteer!

    When the Zoo Ambassador completes 60 hours of volunteering he/she is eligible to apply to be a Zookeeper Aide or Education volunteer and work more closely with the animals at the Zoo.
